Cosmetic Dermatology Procedures
The field of cosmetic dermatology has significantly expanded over the years, offering a range of treatments designed to enhance and rejuvenate skin appearance. At Center for Cosmetic Dermatology, we provide a variety of cosmetic dermatology services tailored to meet the individual needs and aesthetic goals of our patients. Below is a list of products and procedures that we offer at the Center for Cosmetic Dermatology.
Neuromodulators (BOTOX/Dysport)
Neuromodulators, such as Botox or Dysport, offer a minimally invasive treatment to reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines. Common among those seeking to address signs of aging like crow’s feet, forehead lines, and frown lines, small injections are administered in specific facial muscles to temporarily reduce muscle activity, resulting in smoother skin. The effects typically last about three months.
Fillers
Dermal fillers restore volume and fullness to the face, reducing lines and wrinkles. Common among individuals seeking to enhance facial contours, plump lips, soften wrinkles, and improve scar appearance. These fillers involve the injection of substances like hyluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite. Common filler areas are cheeks, nasal labial folds, under eyes , jawline and marionette lines. This common cosmetic procedure produces immediate results that can last for months or years.
Brands we use include:
- Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers: Restylane, Belotero, Juvuderm
- Non-Hyaluronic Acid-Based Fillers: Radiesse
Kybella
Kybella is an injectable treatment designed to reduce moderate to severe fat below the chin, commonly known as “double chin”. It involves multiple injections of Deoxycholic acid, a natural bile acid that destroys fat cells in the chin area. Multiple treatments may be required to achieve the desired results. Kybella is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment for submental fat reduction.
Ultherapy
Ultherapy, or Ulthera, is an FDA-approved non-surgical cosmetic treatment that tightens the skin on the face, neck, and chest using ultrasound technology. Ultherapy focuses on reducing sagging skin and wrinkles in the neck area, with little or no downtime.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels involve the use of a specific acid solution to remove the top layers of skin, unveiling smoother and more youthful-looking skin underneath. Common among patients seeking to address acne scars, age spots, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. Typically used on the face, chemical peels can be done alone or combined with other cosmetic procedures. Chemical peels are available in different concentrations, with higher concentrated peels offering more dramatic results, but requiring longer recovery times. The concentration of the peel chosen is determined by the skin’s condition and the patient’s desired results.
Blue Peel (TCA Peel)
The Blue Peel, also known as a TCA Peel, is designed to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin. This chemical peel utilizes trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to exfoliate the skin’s outer layers, revealing smoother, more youthful-looking skin. The “blue” in the Blue Peel refers to the painted blue dye that is applied to the skin prior to the TCA solution, allowing for precise application and ensures even coverage.
Radiance Peel
The Radiance Peel is a gentle yet effective chemical peel designed to brighten and rejuvenate the skin. This type of peel utilizes a combination of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic and lactic acid along with other beneficial ingredients including vitamin C and antioxidants. It works by exfoliating the outer layer of the skin, removing dead skin cells, and stimulating cell turnover, resulting in a smoother, more radiant complexion.
Glycolic Peel
Glycolic peels use the power of glycolic acid to rejuvenate the skin. This works by exfoliating the outer layer of the skin, removing dead skin cells and stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for skin elasticity and firmness. The Glycolic Peel is known for its ability to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, fade hyperpigmentation and acne scars, and enhance overall skin tone and radiance.
Laser Hair Removal
The candela alexandrite laser offered at Center for Cosmetic Dermatology is the gold standard for laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is a procedure using laser light to permanently eliminate unwanted hair. It’s popular among individuals seeking long-term solutions for hair removal on various body areas such as the face, legs, arms, underarms, and bikini line. Focused laser beams target and destroy hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth. This highly concentrated light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles, effectively destroying the hair.
Sun Spots/Age Spots
The Candela Alexandrite Laser is an excellent laser for removing unwanted brown pigment. It has over 20 years of proven results on hair removal and on other skin conditions such as wrinkles, spider veins, age spots, freckles, and sun spots. This laser delivers light energy that is absorbed by the brown pigment leading to the destruction of the unwanted lesion. Additionally, this laser treatment leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected.
Vascular Laser Treatments (Vbeam Laser)
The Vbeam® laser is a pulsed dye laser offered at Center for Cosmetic Dermatology and is recognized as the gold standard technology for the treatment of vascular lesions such as dilated blood vessels. In addition, the Vbeam pulsed dye laser (PDL) is also an effective treatment for scars, stretch marks, pigmented lesions and reducing the symptoms of rosacea, with a very low incidence of side effects.
Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using tiny sterilized needles to make micro injuries in the skin in order to form new collagen. This procedure works to improve the appearance and texture of the skin while minimizing acne scarring, enlarged pores, wrinkles, and stretch marks.
Medical Grade Skin Care
The Center for Cosmetic Dermatology utilizes specialized skincare lines, each with a unique focus and formulation aimed at addressing specific skin concerns.
